The celebration begins Sunday morning, March 30, 2008 from 10:00am – 12:30pm

Centrally located near the subway at Yonge and St. Clair at Deer Park Public School on 23 Ferndale Avenue, two blocks east of Yonge, just north of St. Clair

This special event will replace our tournament originally scheduled for March 30 with a new, different approach to martial arts based more on participation, learning and self-development than on competition. We look forward to your attendance.

The first of a series of special celebrations of martial arts excellence will be on March 30th, continuing through the month of April and featuring all the different belt levels performing kata and kumite.

March 30th will feature black belt demonstrations and will conclude with a special presentation of samurai stories by Sensei. Upcoming events during the month will feature kata and sparring clinics for all levels as well as more samurai stories by Sensei.

On each of the four days of the celebration, a different group of belt levels will be the focus for kata and sparring presentations. Everyone is encouraged to attend on all of the days, however. In addition to the kata and sparring presentations, there will be clinics and opportunity for participation for all dojo members.

  • Black Belts: Sunday, March 30, from 10:00am to 12:30pm
  • Brown Belts: Thursday, April 3, from 6:30pm to 9:00pm
  • Green/Blue/Purple Belts: Sunday, April 6, from 10:00am to 12:30pm
  • White/Yellow Belts: Sunday, April 6, from 10:00am to 12:30pm

Every student will be welcome to participate. Bring your friends and family members. They will love this event. There will be no admission fees. Everything is free.

By taking part in the first annual celebration of martial arts excellence, each one of you will be encouraging your peers and developing your own abilities in the art of karate. Being strong develops all sorts of new avenues in life!
