The samurai prepared themselves for battle through physical practice, study of the arts, and a philosophy they learned from tales told by the masters. The ancient stories that inspired warriors so long ago have special significance for today's teens who face battles of their own: battles against self-doubt and lack of confidence; battles against fear; and battles with the injustices they see around them. Samurai Spirit offers stories, lore, and information about the world's greatest warriors to help teens gain the emotional and mental strength it takes to live life to the fullest. Samurai Spirit received a very favourable review from the Toronto Star, Sunday, April 27, 2003 edition. In March 2004, Samurai Spirit also received the Storytelling World Award, a major American literary prize, for "Storybook Anthology for All Ages" |
